Questions

How the Bias Checker works

What does the Bias Checker actually do?

It reads the reasoning you paste in for the language patterns behind well-documented cognitive biases — things like FOMO, anchoring, and overconfidence — and returns the biases it spots plus reflective questions to sit with before you act.

Is the Bias Checker free, and do I need an account?

It is completely free and there is no signup. Open the page, paste your reasoning, and get results immediately.

Is my text saved anywhere?

No. Every check is stateless. Your reasoning is analysed in the moment and nothing is stored, logged, or shared.

Which cognitive biases does it detect?

It covers the biases that most often distort money decisions, including FOMO and herd bias, loss aversion, sunk cost, anchoring, overconfidence, confirmation bias, and recency bias.

Should I treat the results as financial advice?

No. The Bias Checker is a thinking aid, not advice. It highlights patterns in how you framed a decision so you can pressure-test your own reasoning.

How accurate is the detection?

It is pattern-based, so it can miss subtly worded bias and occasionally flag something you have already accounted for. Treat a flag as a prompt to re-examine your reasoning, not a verdict.
